WASHINGTON, July 12, 2016 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) today announced the availability of $8.4 million in available funding to study and develop new approaches for the agriculture sector to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. The funding is available through NIFA's Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI), which is authorized by the 2014 Farm Bill.

SMHA’s affiliate Teche Ridge, LLC is developing Teche Ridge, a master-planned $150 million Traditional Neighborhood Design/Smart Growth development on 100 acres in Iberia Parish. Teche Ridge is the first neighborhood of its kind in Iberia Parish and, when fully built, will provide approximately 600 homes at eight different price points, commercial property, and civic space.
